The Stettener Pulvermächer was first mentioned in 1650. Blasting operations were carried out in the nearby quarry by the Pulvermächer (an old job title for blasting master).

Pepi was named after the classic Sauvignon growing areas of Penon and Pinzon in the municipalities of Kurtatsch and Montan.
