Ribolla Gialla, like many grape varieties in the region, crosses the border between Friuli and Slovenia, here it is called Rebula.
Zelen means 'green' in Slovenian and is derived from the emerald green colour of the grape must.
The squeezed grapes are pressed after a short maceration and the must fermented spontaneously.
