The Catholic parish church in Dernau is still the landowner of this plot of land today - hence the name.

The name Sonnenberg speaks for itself. 95% are steep slopes, which ideally lean towards the south towards the sun and offer the best conditions for Pinot Noir.

The grapes for this Chianti Classico Riserva come exclusively from Tenuta Tignanello, in whose cellar it is also aged for 12 months in barriques.

This wine is all about elegance. Bold aromas of blackberries, cranberries and blackcurrants are followed by notes of savory, spicy plums with hints of cedar and floral tones.

It is warm and ripe on the nose with notes of jam, licorice, cherries and camphor.
