Aszú wines have to mature for at least 18 months in traditional large wooden barrels or barriques before they can be sold. In practice, significantly longer storage times are common. When the winery offered us two conventional wines from the 2013 vintage, we also jumped at the opportunity to be able to offer a certain vintage depth of this almost indefinitely lasting sweet wine specialty. This five-buttery Tokaj Aszú comes from the cru Hétsz?l?, which is the basis of the Tokaj-Hétsz?l? represents. It was already classified as one of the best locations in the area in 1772, at a time when the winery was still owned by the Habsburg Empire.
