Pepi was named after the classic Sauvignon Blanc growing regions of Penon and Pinzon in the municipalities of Kurtatsch and Montan. Above-average spring temperatures favored earlier bud break. The sustained warm temperatures in May led to rapid flowering. Thanks to targeted vineyard work and occasional rain, the vines remained stress-free despite periods of extreme heat in the summer. The harvest began almost two weeks earlier than usual. Because the weather cooperated perfectly, grapes of outstanding quality were harvested throughout the entire season. The 2022 red wines are impressive, benefiting from a high degree of ripeness and developing complex fruit and a full flavor with robust aromas. The white wines exhibit pronounced, refined fruit with balanced acidity. Color: Pepi presents itself in a straw-yellow hue with greenish highlights. Aroma: The varietal bouquet is reminiscent of elderflower and nettle. Taste: On the palate, light yellow fruit aromas of exotic fruits and native fruits such as peach and gooseberry are captivating. It is wonderfully fresh, lively, and has a hearty acidity.
