The grapes thrive on slopes between 250 and 550 meters above sea level. The vineyards have calcareous, loamy to gravelly loam soils and are exposed to significant temperature fluctuations between day and night. Above-average temperatures in spring encouraged earlier bud break. The sustained warm temperatures in May led to rapid flowering. Thanks to targeted vineyard management and occasional rain, the vines remained stress-free despite periods of extreme heat in the summer. The harvest began almost two weeks earlier than usual. Because the weather cooperated perfectly, grapes of outstanding quality were harvested throughout the entire season. The red wines of the 2022 vintage are impressive, benefiting from a high degree of ripeness and developing complex fruit and a full flavor with robust aromas. The white wines exhibit pronounced, refined fruit with balanced acidity. Color: a delicate, lightly aromatic white wine with a greenish-yellow hue. Aroma: This Sauvignon Blanc has a floral fragrance and a distinctive varietal bouquet reminiscent of nettle and elderflower, with subtle hints of green bell pepper and gooseberry. Taste: This Sauvignon Blanc is wonderfully fresh, vibrant, and boasts a pleasant acidity. It is suitable as an aperitif or accompaniment to antipasti and pairs perfectly with asparagus, seafood, poached or grilled fish dishes, and even lightly spiced white meat dishes.
