The grapes thrive on slopes between 250 and 550 meters above sea level. The vineyards have calcareous, loamy to gravelly loam soils and are subject to strong temperature fluctuations between day and night. Above-average temperatures in spring favored earlier bud break. Persistent warm temperatures in May led to rapid flowering. Thanks to targeted work in the vineyard and occasional rain, the vines were kept in a stress-free condition despite summer periods of extreme heat. The harvest began almost two weeks earlier than usual. Thanks to ideal weather conditions, grapes of outstanding quality were harvested throughout the entire harvest season. The red wines of the 2022 vintage are impressive, benefiting from a high degree of ripeness and developing complex fruit and a full flavor with robust aromas. The white wines exhibit pronounced, sophisticated fruit with balanced acidity. Color: greenish to light yellow nuances. Nose: Moriz indulges in aromas of pear, citrus, and dried fruits, underscored by buttery notes. Palate: Fresh and juicy on the palate, the Moriz has a pleasant fullness, accompanied by appealing minerality. The finish is slightly spicy and long-lasting.
