The name Glarea is of Rhaeto-Romanic origin and means gravel, a clear indication of the soil composition in the Glarea vineyards. Above-average temperatures in spring favored earlier bud break. The sustained warm temperatures in May led to rapid flowering. Thanks to targeted work in the vineyard and occasional rain, the vines were kept in a stress-free state despite periods of extreme heat in the summer. The harvest began almost two weeks earlier than usual. Because the weather cooperated perfectly, grapes of outstanding quality were harvested throughout the entire harvest period. The red wines of the 2022 vintage are impressive, benefiting from a high degree of ripeness and developing complex fruit and a full flavor with robust aromas. The white wines exhibit pronounced, refined fruit with balanced acidity. Color: Straw yellow with greenish hues. Aroma: Ripe banana, dried apricot, and pineapple are the primary attributes of this Chardonnay. Taste: An invigorating freshness, a juicy fullness, and a crisp minerality tantalize the taste buds, culminating in a long, harmonious finish. Glarea is a true all-rounder, best suited to hearty appetizers. Whether with vegetable soup or spaghetti with clams, this Chardonnay is always a perfect match. Glarea tastes heavenly with pizza, especially when topped with buffalo mozzarella.
