The name Glarea is of Romansh origin and means gravel, a clear reference to the nature of the soil in the Glarea vineyards. Above-average temperatures in spring favored earlier budding. The persistent warm temperatures in May led to rapid flowering. Thanks to targeted work in the vineyard and occasional rain, the vines were kept in a stress-free condition, despite summer periods of extreme heat. The harvest began almost two weeks earlier than usual. Because the weather was ideal, grapes of outstanding quality were harvested throughout the entire harvest period. The red wines of the 2022 vintage are impressive, they benefit from a high degree of ripeness and develop a complex fruit and full flavor with strong aromas. The white wines have a distinctive, finesse-rich fruit with a balanced acidity. Color: Straw yellow dress presented with greenish nuances. Aroma: Ripe banana, dried apricot and pineapple are the primary attributes of this Chardonnay. Glarea is a jack of all trades that best accompanies hearty starters. Whether with vegetable soup or spaghetti with clams, you're on the right track with this Chardonnay. Glarea tastes heavenly with pizza, best when topped with buffalo mozzarella.
