In 1762 the Austro-Hungarian Empire had Major General Baron von Petrasch received the vineyard in Tolcsva as a gift and gave it his name. Today, Oremu's oldest Furmint bush vines stand here, close together, and are cultivated exclusively by hand (just like in Petrasch's time). The work in the cellar is more reminiscent of Vega Sicilia, with barrel fermentation and long aging times in different containers: new French and Hungarian oak, steel tank, bottle. The combination seems to be right, the result is overwhelming. Petrács Furmint is an impressively pure and precise wine. Dry on the palate, with crystalline, slightly salty minerality, enormous concentration and depth, which promise it excellent storage potential (up to 15 years, under optimal conditions).
