In the steepest part of the Thüngersheim Johannisberg there is a small field that has always been called Rothlauf. The stony

shell limestone soil is interspersed with red sandstone, which pushes itself to the surface here and there. This means that two of the geological formations that were created in the Franconian Triassic are right next to each other. This gives the wines grown on it a special style: they are very delicate and impress with their elegant play. In the glass there are fine aromas of yellow fruit, accompanied by herbal spices and clear minerality reminiscent of flint; complex and deep, this wine remains appealing and light on the palate.
