The "Im Sonnenschein" vineyard site has a strong southern exposure. Because many other neighboring vineyards in the area have a more eastern exposure, this vineyard always faces "Im Sonnenschein," hence the name. The soil is varied and complex. Shell limestone is the dominant element here. Calcareous soils provide excellent conditions for fine wines. The vineyard lies at an elevation of approximately 180 meters above sea level. Spicy notes with smoky nuances are typical of a Pinot Blanc from the "Im Sonnenschein" vineyard site. The interplay of optimal fruit ripeness and minerality is expressed here in a very distinctly salty, mineral character. The perfect ripeness of the grapes, careful grape and mash processing, and our gentle aging in stainless steel barrels resulted in a very varietal white wine from the Palatinate region with great elegance.
