As precise and pure as the scent of the Riesling »Narrenkappe« is, it is as concise and demanding on the palate. The wine has a sinewy body tension, which is already present at first glance and which stretches as a crystalline acid arc right through to the finale. In between, the spiciness of the Rotliegend flashes again, the energy inherent in this rock and which is accompanied here by a slightly creamy texture that coats it. The Riesling »Narrenkappe« appears bright and high-toned and yet also clearly stony and mineral. It is this minerality that remains present until the last moment.
