The church piece was already mentioned in documents before the Thirty Years' War. Located at 150 meters in the middle of a plateau between two churches, you have a view of H.O.'s home town of Hohen-Sülzen. In the ancient core lies his oldest vineyard, planted in the 1960s. Today, the wines come from the best plots in the entire church, have an average age of 35 years, and result in fruity and profound wines. The layer consists of soft, calcareous stone and allows the vines an excellent supply of nutrients despite the extremely calcareous subsoil. Characterized by its expressive fruit, the church piece is accessible from a young age without impairing its great potential for maturity.
