The Pinot Gris estate wine presents a bouquet of aromas of ripe, mealy pear, almond, and herbs. Despite its clarity and delicate juiciness, the body is dense and powerful. On the palate, one perceives a slightly salty minerality combined with ripe pear, vanilla blossom, and a hint of extract sweetness. The grapes for this VDP.Estate wine are produced by the Rings winery in their own vineyards in Freinsheim, Ungstein, and Kallstadt. From pruning to hand-harvesting, everything is personally inspected, managed, and overseen by Rings. The grapes, all harvested by hand, are then partially pressed whole and, after a short maceration period, fermented with natural yeasts. Aging takes place 80% in stainless steel tanks and 20% in large wooden barrels. Since organic farming is of paramount importance to the Rings winery, no additional fining or other additives are used.
