Vineyard Location & Terroir: The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® GRABEN encompasses the renowned VDP.GROSSE LAGE® DOCTOR in the 60 percent steep vineyards north and above Bernkastel. The vineyards range from 125 to 225 meters in elevation, with a 60 percent gradient. The GL GRABEN faces south-southwest. Terroir: The vines here are rooted in blue slate and blue clay slate. The clay content, in particular, ensures an excellent water supply.
