In the classic vineyard sites of Felsenberg (Oberhausen) and Hinkelstein (Bad Kreuzach), the stony soil has a higher clay content in some areas. These are the perfect locations for selecting Pinot Blanc grapes, which are then vinified separately for the premium wine category. The vines are approximately 40 years old, yields approximately 40 hl/ha, and the grapes are 100% hand-harvested. Fermentation and approximately 8 months of aging on the lees take place in new German oak barrels. Only healthy, fully ripe Pinot Blanc grapes are selected. The oak aromas from the new barrels made of Palatinate oak give the Pinot Blanc backbone and power, making it an excellent food wine with great aging potential.
