Location & Terroir Vineyard: The legendary Bernkasteler Doctor rises with its steep slope directly above Bernkastel at an altitude of 125 to 200 meters above sea level. According to legend, it got its name from Archbishop Boemund II, who, having healed from a serious illness, described this situation as the "true Doctor".
