Although the Brunnenhäuschen vineyard, located east of Morstein, is purely south-facing, it ripens very late. This is due to its high elevation and exposure to the westerly wind, which keeps the temperature consistently cool despite intense sunlight. Clay marl with limestone and limestone cliffs define the wine's precise, dense character. In addition, there are partial patches of terra rossa, red soils with a high iron oxide content, which lend the Rieslings a creamy minerality.
