Currently still very much in its youthful stage, needs air and time: it's best to add it briefly to the carafe. First, very fine oak roasted aromas. What may seem like too much at the moment is exactly the right amount for a long life in the bottle. Vanilla, Brazilian tobacco, roasted nuts and ripe pineapple on the first nose. Then another wonderful smokiness, but this time not from the wood, but from the pure stone. On second smell ripe grapefruit, white peach and mirabelle plums. Very racy, currently somewhat impetuous acidity, which is also designed for a long life. Lots of ripe lime, ginger and even more minerality on the palate than on the nose. A lot of power that hasn't really been released yet. With 2020 considered a top vintage in Burgundy, a real long-term investment, a wine to put away. Sylvain is thinking about a time horizon of 15 to 20 years.
