Aligoté is clearly overshadowed by Chardonnay in Burgundy. At most, the variety is known as an acidic component of the winegrower's aperitif Kir, and it also finds its way into the cuvée of some crémants. But there is another way. The grapes for this Aligoté come from 30-year-old vines in Comblanchien, a place known in France for its limestone quarries. A third expansion in wood, two thirds in steel tanks. Ripe mirabelle fruit and nutty notes on the nose, on the palate an unusual creaminess for Aligoté, with a lot of play and length, lemon notes and a lot of freshness in the finale. An aligoté to be amazed!
