A classic among Wachau wines. Power and elegance at the same time. Plenty of substance and potential. Concentrated and deep wines are characteristic of the Kellerberg vineyard. The nose itself is compact and expressive; firm spice and smoky. On the palate, it is very deep and spicy, with a pronounced texture and a firm structure. Precise and powerful with a beautiful acidity and a mineral aftertaste. Smaragd stands for dry, dense, and complex wines from the Wachau; in addition to structure and depth, Smaragd also impresses with its great ageing potential. The Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Ried Kellerberg is a versatile companion. It pairs well with Mediterranean cuisine, such as creamy asparagus risotto or pan-fried sea bass with rosemary potatoes, as well as with Austrian classics, such as Wiener Schnitzel or baked porcini mushrooms with tartar sauce. But more exotic styles, such as Indian lamb biryani (lamb stew with curry, cashew nuts, and raisins), also make excellent partners.
