Max's pays homage to Max Schubert, Penfolds' legendary first cellar master and creator of the Grange. From 1948 to 1975 Max Schubert was the genius of the winery. A veteran, but always open to the new, the old, the different, in order to bring only the best to the bottle. His wines became icons, his quality benchmark is still valid today. Of course also for the Penfolds' white wines. Max's Adelaide Hills Chardonnay combines the cool origins of the grapes with a careful aging in French oak (30 percent new casks). In the bouquet fragrant aromas of juicy ripe stone fruit, almonds, nuts and jasmine, smooth and noticeably mineral on the palate with lively freshness.
