In the summer of 1993, the Buglioni family, originally a long-established family of restaurateurs, fulfilled a long-held dream and acquired an old farmhouse along with five hectares of vineyards and olive groves. Today, the size of the estate has likely increased many times over, but all the vineyards owned by the Buglionis are located in the original Valpolicella Classico region, the hilly area east of Lake Garda, with the best sites on the Sant'Ambrogio plateau and in the San Pietro valley. Il Vigliacco means "The Coward" and is said to be a reference to the Valpolicella Consortium's decision at the time to no longer allow the use of the delicate Molinara grape in Valpolicella. After a gentle pressing, the fresh must spends 48 hours on the skins and is fermented for 15 days. Using the Charmat/Martinotti method, the sparkling wine undergoes fermentation for 30 days. It proves to be an ideal food pairing wine, as it is very fruity, delicate, and playful on the palate. Color: deep salmon pink. Aroma: gentle, fruity, with floral notes. Taste: fruity, refreshingly dry.
