The Domaine Kuehn in Ammerschwihr has been a famous gourmet address since 1675. Actually, even longer. Because

originally the "Auberge de l'Enfer" inn stood here, which Baron Schiele converted into the "Caves de l'Enfer" in 1675: the "hell's cellar" in which the Kuehn family prepares their heavenly wines. A particularly

fine specialty of the domaine is its Crémants d'Alsace, prepared according to the traditional method. The

elegant Brut Prestige combines Pinot Blanc, Auxerrois and Chardonnay. All grapes are hand-picked

and immediately pressed, the clear musts are fermented, then bottled for secondary fermentation and matured on the yeasts for a good 18 months. The result is an extremely charming, finely sparkling Crémant with fragrant

notes of citrus fruits and a hint of brioche.
