Giorgio Rivetti from La Spinetta has acquired this historic company. Contratto, based in Canelli (Asti), is the oldest Spumante (methode Champenoise) winery in Italy. It was the FIRST in Italy to produce Spumante using the champagne method, even before Franciacorta Spumante existed, for example. The grapes come from Bossolasco at an altitude of 830 meters. UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2012. Color: sparkling light yellow, long-lasting perlage. Aroma: strong nose with aromas of white fruit. Taste: dry and finely fruity, strong, fresh acidity, mineral.
