The Levitage grape variety originates from a cross originally created in 1994 at the LVWO Weinsberg under the sober name WE 94-26-37. Its breeding line combines genetic components of Lemberger and Dornfelder. It also possesses resistance genes from American Vitis species against the fungal diseases Peronospora and Oidium. A delicate nose of raspberries and Breschdlingsgsälz (Swabian for strawberry jam). On the palate, it is wonderfully fresh and juicy. With substance and plenty of structure.
