Max's pays homage to Max Schubert, Penfolds' legendary first cellar master and creator of the Grange. From 1948 to 1975 Max Schubert was the genius of the winery. A veteran, but always open to the new, the old, the different, in order to bring only the best to the bottle. His wines became icons, his quality benchmark is still valid today. Max Schubert traveled to Europe early on to look at the methods there and to take up one or the other idea. He also discovered the wonderfully drinkable, pastel-colored rosé wines that inspired Penfolds to create Max's Rosé. Without any contact with the wood, the Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir preserves its fragrant aromas of wild strawberries, citrus fruits, cinnamon and aniseed. Lively, seductive on the palate, with a fine balance of acidity and sweetness and long-lasting freshness.
