Lobenberg: Le Desir: A blend of 83% Cabernet Franc, 8% Merlot, 5% Malbec and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep violet in the glass. The nose is a pure stone essence! That's some stark minerality! Graphite, slate, cedar wood with smoked meat, leather and a fire in the fireplace. Little by little an ethereal gin note follows, including floating mint notes. Only then juicy red cherries in dark chocolate and a little fragrant potpourri. Even on the nose this wine is highly complex. In the mouth it is dense, ripe, juicy and in wonderful harmony. Wrapped in juicy cherries, the spicy aromas of the nose are also present in the mouth. Brilliant. The animal side of the Cabernet Franc appears here domesticated, parted and coiffed with Motörhead on the headphones. The tannins are powdery, ripe and round. La Classe! Although this is still a very young wine, it is already a real spectacle. A long-distance runner, the wine can be forgotten in the cellar for now. 100/100 *** La Joie: A blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. Deep violet in the glass. The nose is intense and concentrated. Wow, an incredible, almost powerful spice density! Frankincense, juniper, cedar wood, sage, thyme and mint mingle with juicy blackberries and black cherries. In the mouth, the tannins are fine-grained, round and polished and velvety ripe. Here, too, there is a lot of density and pressure in the glass. Cassis, blueberry juice, freshly turned earth with smoky graphite, 100 percent chocolate, white licorice, a little chili, grilled red peppers and freshly roasted coffee. This wine has a lot of muscle power, ethereally cool, it combines power and elegance. More like Nureyev than Schwarzenegger. It lingers in the mouth for a long time with the black cherry and juniper spice. 97-98/100 *** La Muse: A blend of 90 percent Merlot, 5 percent Cabernet Franc and 5 percent Malbec. Deep ruby red with violet in the glass. The wine jumps out of the glass aromatically! Juicy ripe black cherry, sweet blueberries and blackberries with a little blackberry bush and thyme and juniper berries. Coffee and dark chocolate mix with gentle vanilla, a little incense and warm candle wax. After just a moment in the glass, the wine opens up with its incredibly impressive, intense, iron-rich minerality. In the mouth, it's an elegant muse! Sour cherry and juicy heart cherry with crème Chantilly and a hint of rose hip. Dark chocolate turns into slightly smoky notes and sweet vanilla. The tannins are finely polished, almost powdery, ripe and silky, integrated. The aging in the wooden barrel is superbly integrated, the balance is fantastic. Expressive and yet so wonderful, harmonious and elegant. Epic long aftertaste. The present fruit is already a joy, but after five to ten years in the cellar this wine becomes a celebration! 100/100
