The Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for this classic Bordeaux blend come from Stellenbosch. The grapes are not pressed, only the juice that runs freely before the actual pressing is used. After fermentation in stainless steel, the wine matures for 24 months, 55% in new French oak barrels and 45% in second and third-use barrels. The bouquet has notes of dark cherries, plenty of cassis and fennel with a hint of allspice. The complexity continues on the palate, very balanced with a spicy and elegant finish. It reaches its ideal drinking maturity after around three to five years.
