Testone (meaning "stubborn" in Italian) has practically become a cult wine. Marco uses fully ripened grapes from a top vineyard near Monforte for this single-varietal Merlot. The grapes are crushed whole, without destemming, meaning they are macerated with the stems. After a maceration period of about three weeks, the wine is pressed and aged for approximately 18 months in new barriques. An exciting interpretation of an "international" grape variety with a distinctly Piedmontese character and a true rarity! Color: dark cherry red. Aroma: intense sweet cherry notes. Taste: full and juicy, fine acidity, abundant fruit, and excellent structure.
