The story begins in 2002 when Orlando Nugnes fulfilled his dream and established the winery with his son Antonio and grandson Orlando Jr. Thanks to their high level of professionalism, innovation, hard work, and outstanding wines, they quickly transformed a simple winery into a model operation. Antonio Nugnes produced the legendary Falerno del Massico. The mild and temperate climate, the fertile soils rich in volcanic elements, and the pleasant Campanian sun all contribute to enriching the wines with intense and delicate aromas. It is here that Falerno del Massico acquires all the qualities that earned it the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status in 1986. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested at the end of October. This wine is dedicated to Orlando Nugnes's father, Antonio Nugnes, known in the local dialect as "Onn Antó," who passed away far too soon. This blend of classic Campanian grape varieties was aged for two years in new oak barrels in an extremely limited edition. Falerno is definitely a cult wine of Southern Italy! Color: dark, blackish-red. Aroma: complex bouquet reminiscent of ripe wild berries and cherries. Taste: full-bodied, with noble tannins, fine acidity, elegant, deep, and with an almost endless finish. Delivered in a wooden case.
