The grapes thrive in deep, sandy and partly calcareous, porphyry and gravelly soils on hills at altitudes of 250 to 400 m. Above-average temperatures in spring favored earlier budding. The persistent warm temperatures in May led to rapid flowering. Thanks to targeted work in the vineyard and occasional rain, the vines were kept in a stress-free condition despite summer periods of extreme heat. The grape harvest began almost two weeks earlier than usual. Because the weather was ideal, grapes of outstanding quality were harvested throughout the entire harvest period. The red wines of the 2022 vintage are impressive, they benefit from a high degree of ripeness and develop a complex fruit and full flavor with strong aromas. The white wines have a distinctive, finesse-rich fruit with a balanced acidity. Color: Lagrein is a South Tyrolean grape variety with a ruby to dark garnet color. Aroma: The wine smells of violet, blackberry and a little cherry, accompanied by earthy tones. Taste: It has a pleasant fullness and shows raspberry, dark red cherry, bittersweet chocolate, black licorice and spices in the palate in a tannic structure. Very long finish.
