Accornero is actually known for its sensational Barberas. On the occasion of the centenary, Ermanno Accornero created the Centenario (meaning: the centenarian). This very rare wine was initially a Cabernet-Barbera cuvée, then from the 2011 vintage onwards a pure Cabernet Sauvignon. The Centenario is produced in very small quantities. It matures in new barriques for around 18 months. Color: dark ruby red. Fragrance: strong nose of Amarena cherries and cassis. Taste: sweet tannins, lots of fruit, full, good acidity, long.
