The success of the magnificent ORGNO encouraged the Fasolis to plant more Merlot in neighboring locations with the same characteristics. Since the grapes from the younger vines did not quite meet their high demands for the ORGNO, CALLE was initially a kind of second wine in the logic of the great role model. CALLE has now developed into an independent single-vineyard wine. The same complex process of drying the grapes and aging in barriques also guarantees the highest quality for this wine. Perhaps a tad less sustainable than the ORGNO and therefore drinkable at a younger age. It is difficult to say whether the age of the vines or the location shape the character of the wine, given that the grapes are otherwise processed in practically the same way. Probably the interplay of both factors. Because it is not quite as powerful, CALLE is 'easier' to drink than the ORGNO, which should really be reserved for very special moments.
