Following the excellent 2018 vintage, 2019 was a truly outstanding year. Rainfall wasn't abundant, but it was distributed quite evenly across the different growing seasons. Temperatures were mostly moderate, with only a few spikes above 35°C. All of this allowed for a slow and even ripening of the grapes, ideal for achieving perfect phenolic and technological maturity. A fine, pronounced nose with aromas of black cherry, toast, and orange peel, along with spicy notes of oak and licorice. On the palate, abundant, rich fruit, ultra-fine, almost powdery tannins, and a touch of salinity. Very lively, with great length and an invigorating mouthfeel. "The best ever?" James Suckling is certainly not wrong to ask.
