In contrast to the Barbera Gallina, where the grapes come from the Alba region, the grapes for the Barbera Superiore Bionzo come from the Asti region. The wines from this region are a bit more complex and fruity than those from Alba. The Bionzo matures for 16 months in new barriques. Color: deep ruby, with a hint of violet. Aroma: complex, berries, cassis, vanilla. Taste: great structure, racy acidity and soft tannins.
