The Barbaresco Valeirano has been produced since 1997; it was La Spinetta's third Barbaresco. The Valeirano vineyard is located in Treiso at an altitude of 450 meters. The soils there are very calcareous and stony, and the vines have an average age of approximately 45-50 years. The Gallina vineyard covers 3 hectares and faces 100% south. Neive is the most famous region for Barbaresco. The Valeirano harvest begins in mid-October. The wine matures for 22 months in new barriques, followed by a 3-month rest in stainless steel tanks. It then ages for another 12 months in the bottle. Only then is it released unfiltered and unfined. Color: sparkling ruby. Aroma: reminiscent of rose petals and wild berries, ripe grapes. Taste: vibrant acidity, soft and sweet tannins, full body, a great wine.
