In the summer of 1993, the Buglioni family, a long-established family of restaurateurs, fulfilled a long-held dream and bought an old farmstead with five hectares of vineyards and olive groves. Today, the size of the business has multiplied, but all of the vineyards owned by the Buglionis are located in the original zone of the Valpolicella Classico region, i.e. the hilly zone east of Lake Garda with the best locations in the plateau of Sant'Ambrogio and the valley of San Pietro. Only the very best grapes from the top locations of San'Ambrogio and San Pietro are hand-picked and made into the Amarone Riserva. Only exceptional vintages are produced. After careful partial drying, the grapes are pressed from December onwards, the wine is fermented, aged for around 24 months in barriques, followed by at least another 18 months of aging in the bottle. Color: garnet red with a black core. Aroma: cherry, plum, spices, hints of chocolate and liquorice. Taste: very fruity, black cherry, sandalwood, almost endless finish.
