Quite deep in color in the glass: rich ruby red with purple reflections. Has everything you could want from a Pinot on the nose: first seductive floral, then lots of wild berry and sour cherry fruit and finally the typical smokiness of the variety. Very elegant use of wood, with a new wood content of 15% in the 2020 vintage. Wonderfully melting on the palate: first candied strawberries, then some lactic acidity. A ripe and at the same time refreshing acidity, sour cherries and also some grapefruit in the mouth. The longer the Pinot Noir stays on the palate, the more the smoky and herbal notes of incense, allspice and tar come through. 25% of the grapes are processed as whole bunches, which provides additional structure and potential. Tannins of the finest grain and a pleasant chalky minerality underline the whole thing. Fruit, spice, smoke, wood, acidity, minerality: it has just the right amount of everything. Despite all its depth, this is a wine that is incredibly enjoyable. A very friendly Grand Cru. Delivered in a wooden box of 6.
