The next generation is setting the next milestone at Weingut am Stein. These young, wild ones, including daughter Antonia Knoll, are working on the winery's new red wines with the same dedication and professionalism as Sandra and Ludwig Knoll. The top-quality Innere Leiste vineyard is home to not only excellent Riesling, but also outstanding Pinot Noir. The Innere Leiste is a perfect blend of two contrasting influences. First, there is the heat that rises from the city's valley basin. Second, there are the cold north winds, which, while tempered by the forest, still ensure cool nights, allowing the grapes to retain their fresh acidity. The wine is aged 100% in barriques. On the nose, sour cherries and currants pair with subtle roasted aromas and delicate hints of vanilla. On the palate, a strong tannin structure with nuances of coffee and dark chocolate. A full-bodied wine with a long finish.
