The Schlossberg, already historically a Grand Cru location, benefits as an extremely steep terraced vineyard from its hot location and the resulting warm wine character. The aroma and taste are fiery and silky, the fruit is characterized by red sour cherries. Merian wrote about Klingenberg in 1646: “A very small town, so famous because of its wonderful wine wax, which delicious wine is widely seduced.”
