The individual location of Sankt Georgenberg is a gently sloping south-facing slope that is cooled by the wind even on hot days. The vines grow on deep loess-clay soils with good water-storing properties. The grapes ripen more slowly here and thus gain in complexity. Max Pfannebecker also gives the wines a long aging period in the cellar. After 18 months of aging in mostly new French oak barrique barrels, the wine always ages in the bottle for at least 3 years before it is released on the market. This makes the tannins softer and the wine easy to drink, rich in finesse and complex. Already on the nose it captivates with notes of roasted almonds with brittle, ripe morello cherries, fresh red berries, cold smoke and roasted notes. His body is firm with strength and athletic stature. The Maximus is cool and warm at the same time. A wine with a high fruit concentration, spicy-sweet, intense flavor nuances, a lot of substance and a nice drinking flow.
