Named after a small chapel on the Hermitage hill, La Chapelle is among the finest red wines in the world. Since the legendary 1961, which today can hardly be bought under € 7,000, the wine is mentioned in the same breath as icons like Pétrus, Mouton Rothschild, Romanée-Conti or Penfolds Grange. Jaboulet has set a memorial to this wine myth of the Rhône. La Chapelle needs at least 8-10 years of maturity, but can age 35 and in very large years, even 50 years.
