Château de Beaucastel, one of the most important wineries in the southern Rhône, is now run by the fourth generation of the Perrin family. Jacques Perrin, who died in 1978, was an esteemed cellar master in the Rhone Valley. He established three basic principles for the wines of Beaucastel: the wines should be made using natural methods, a large proportion of the Mourvèdre grape variety should be used and the natural properties of the wine should not be adulterated by modern technology. At Château de Beaucastel, the Homage to Jacques Perrin is only produced in the really good years. It shows what a great Châteauneuf-du-Pape can be. Ideal conditions in the vineyard and fully ripe grapes. The wine promises to be big and extraordinary.
