While the exciting 2017 vintage follows its very own logic, the second wine from Château Fonroque 2018 ties in with the 2016 vintage in terms of quality and style and manages to strike a balance between intense, ripe fruit, freshness marked by herbs, very high-quality tannin structure and salty minerality to keep. Elderberry juice, preserved blueberries, melted butter on the nose, then sour cherries on the palate, lots of extract sweetness and refreshing, slightly bitter herbal notes of bay leaf and juniper.
