One might think, given the class of the Rasteau or Saint-Joseph by Tardieu, that the flagship Châteauneuf-du-Pape would struggle to impress as much or more. But ultimately it is the measure of all things, especially in the exceptional 2020 vintage. Even the nose promises a lot. In addition to some red peppers, red fruits such as raspberries and cherries dominate. A lot of concentrated power on the palate, which has not yet fully unfolded, but is, so to speak, in wait. Darker flavors such as Rumtopf, chocolate and prunes are added here. The whole thing is perfectly balanced and wonderfully harmonious. Great things are really ripening here!
