This Châteauneuf-du-Pape impressively demonstrates that greatness in this region arises not from sheer concentration, but from the quality of its tannins. The exceptionally demanding 2024 vintage required uncompromising work in the vineyard, rigorous selection, and considerable patience. The historically low Grenache yields, caused by severe mildew pressure and consistent harvesting, resulted in wines of remarkable finesse and expressiveness from the most successful producers. From very old vines, some 60 to 80 years old, comes a cuvée of silky texture, supple mouthfeel, and impressive intensity. Ripe, juicy, and perfectly balanced, it displays elegant aromas of red cherries, strawberries, and raspberries, accompanied by rose petals, floral herbs, and delicate spice notes. The finely woven, Grenache-dominant tannins effortlessly carry the fresh fruit across the palate to a long, salty-mineral finish with subtle spice, partly influenced by whole-cluster fermentation. Charming, precise, and exceptionally stylish, it combines drinkability, finesse, and great aging potential.
