Both the Grand Vin and the second wine Blason de L’Évangile of the winery play in the top league of the Bordelais and the international wine world. The history of the Château L'Évangile winery in the Bordeaux Pomerol appellation begins as early as 1741. No wonder, as the terroir here is particularly suitable for excellent wines: a moderate climate influenced by the Atlantic and well-aerated gravel soils offer the best conditions. Today this excellent and rather smaller winery is part of the Rothschild family's wine empire. 80 percent of the vineyards are planted with Merlot, 20 percent is occupied by another Bordeaux classic, Cabernet Franc. Château L'Évangile bottles around 60,000 bottles every year.
