You need two wings to fly and two winemakers to create a heavenly wine. Montes Wings is the joint project of Aurelio Montes father and son: two generations, two talents and their double standards united to prepare a unique Carmenère on their winery in Apalta. The grapes ripen on the steep slopes of the finca, the wines in mostly new barrels made of French oak. Both give Montes Wings this typical and yet very unique character, complemented by a little Cabernet Franc, which elegantly underlines the juicy fruit and fine spiciness of the Carmenère. Powerful, smooth and complex with aromas of dark berries, black pepper and the sweet roasted notes of barrel aging. Beautifully balanced with an endlessly long finish.
